Dejah Thoris, Princess of Mars

Cover art from A Princess of Mars by Edgar Ric...Image via Wikipedia
Ah, the lovely...dangerous...seductive...cunning Dejah Thoris. If you don't know who she is or where she's from shame on you! You're reading this blog, you should know. But, a quick refresher for those of you just joining the party...
The beautiful Dejah Thoris is a female protagonist from Edgar Rice Burrough's Martian novels (also featuring the Earth-man John Carter). She is the Princess of the Martian city-state of Helium and, eventually, love interest and wife for aforementioned John Carter. First appearing in the 1917 debut novel for John Carter, A Princess of Mars, Dejah Thoris played a prominent role in other novels in the series, including The Gods of Mars, The Warlord of Mars, Swords of Mars and (aptly) John Carter of Mars.
Since the lovely princess is supposed to be the most beautiful woman in Helium, and because she is such a strong character, she has become a staple of comic book, sci-fi, fantasy and pin-up art.
Did I forget to mention Martian clothing consists of, well, nothing except a few well-placed jewels?
Ahem...
Now would be the time to mention the NSFW rating of this post. Since many of these images represent the character in her native dress (or undress), she is bereft of clothing in most of them. So, you have been warned!

The Wonderful Women of Hammer Horror

Oh, lordy lordy! What a wonderful time the 1960's and early 1970's were for horror-philes! The big, big player in all this was the wonderful British film studio Hammer Films. And oh, how many times did Christopher Lee or Peter Cushing encounter a lovely, buxom, scantily-clad young beauty in distress? Or, for that matter, with fangs?
To celebrate, ruminate and generally reminisce here at the Xemnu blog, I've gathered some samples of the finest beautiful starlets from those glorious gory days of yore. A feast for the eyes to be sure!

If these images proved...heh heh heh...titillating for you, I highly recommend the recently published photo-book Hammer Glamour and the Hammer Glamour 2012 Calendar. You can...heh heh heh...fang me later!

The Assassination of JFK, part 2

John F. Kennedy motorcade, Dallas, Texas, Nov....Image via Wikipedia
Hello, Xemnuphiles!  Today is part two of our look at one man's theory on the assassination of JFK. I've busted this up into two parts simply because of time's sake and the sheer amount of information in these videos. It takes some going through, but it's definitely worth looking at and digesting.
I also implore you to look through the rest of the videos at this YouTube channel. Enjoy!

The Assassination of JFK, part 1

The John F. Kennedy AssassinationImage by Jesse757 via Flickr
Every conspiracy nut has their own theory on who killed JFK. It was a lone gunman; it was aliens from outer space; two shots were fired, no...wait...make that 4 shots were fired. Everyone from Lyndon Johnson to Colonel Sanders has been implicated at one time in the assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy.
But...Xemnu likes a good conspiracy. Xemnu also likes a really, really well-argued and fact-based analysis of a mystery. Enter the YouTube channel of one Bob Harris.
I have no idea who this guy is but he's put forth a pretty convincing argument for the facts (as he presents them). It's intriguing to say the least.
Since these videos are a little longer in duration I think I'm going to split this up into two parts for my Xemnuphiles. Today will be part one. Stay tuned for part two.
