It's a well known fact Star Wars is George Lucas' commercial bitch. I mean, shill it if it'll make you money...am I right? So, Yoda sells, of all things, Cup of Noodles. At least in Japan, anyway.

Kongfrontation!

The now defunct Kongfrontation ride from Universal Studios Theme Park. I have a special place in my heart for the 1976 remake (even in all it's B-movie glory). So I was pretty sad when this was closed before I got a chance to see it.
As awesome as the effects were in Peter Jackson's 2005 homage it just lacked the zeal the '76 version had...in spades.

Skull Island - More Kong Goodness!!

Stop-motion animator Eric Kessler has worked tirelessly to get his prequel to the original King Kong made. Apeing (heh heh heh) the techniques of master animator Willis O-Brien, Kessler is working hard to make his dream of seeing a new, stop-motion Kong on-screen (at least a monitor near you).

You can check his YouTube channel here, where he has several videos of his work up for viewing. Truly awesome stuff and kudos to you Mr. Kessler for your vision!
