Nightfall!

A little something different here at Xemnu's abode on the web.
As some of you may have guessed, my interests are wide and varied. One of these curious pastimes I enjoy is old time radio (or OTR for short). Specifically science fiction and horror anthology radio programs like Arch Oboler's Light's Out, X-Minus-1 and the particular gem we're going to discuss today...Nightfall.
By most OTR standards Nightfall is not that old. Nightfall broadcast on the CBC from 1980 to 1983 and even though this is a rather short run for an OTR series, it is particularly notable for the themes and atmosphere. Fondly remembered (rightfully so) as being one of the most popular of CBC programs and also one of the most terrifying radio shows to ever broadcast, episodes are somewhat scarce and difficult to come by. Unless, of course you peruse the internet archive.
Naturally, I've wanted to feature this here because of my love of horror and OTR. Please, if you enjoy what you are about to hear certainly visit this website for a more detailed history of the program.
If you've never listened to OTR before I encourage you to at least give this a try. I would go so far as to turn out the lights and listen in the dark, actually. Even creepier that way.
For now, though, listen and let your blood run cold. It is...Nightfall!
