Avengers - Black Widow
Well, the joyous culmination of years of geek dreams is finally barely a week away. Yes, I'm talking about the live-action Avengers movie. To celebrate I'll be featuring a different movie Avenger each day this week. Maybe two a day, if I'm feeling up to it.
Today we start with...Black Widow (portrayed by the beauteous Scarlet Johansson)!

Jonathan Frid (1924-2012)
Anyone reading this blog regularly probably has similar tastes to yours truly. I suspect many of you are fans of the original Dark Shadows television soap opera.
While I never saw the show as a first-run feature, I almost never missed it when it was a re-run on our local television station. I have fond memories of sitting and watching, waiting for the appearance of one character in particular: the vampire Barnabas Collins.
And now actor Jonathan Frid has passed.
It didn't really matter where I was: I could hear that eerie opening music two blocks away in a thunderstorm. Those are some good memories for me, for many reasons.
Be that as it is, now the man has passed let's look at how we were all introduced to the vampire: the very first appearance of Frid as Barnabas Collins.
